Home Made Iced Coffee

OK with my cut downs in my life with me working on my credit and working on buying a house I've made a whole lot of changes.. One of my changes I made is to cut my coffee purchases outside.. DD and SB are very expensive and I have to be smart and savy shopper. So my husband brought me new coffee maker that I'm learning to use... I've been learning how to make the perfect iced coffee! Haven't come out perfect but I'm very close.. Guess I'll see tomorrow.. =)

Step 1: Brew your pot of ,coffee as normal but if you want iced coffee I would say put a tablespoon and a half to two tablespoons per ever cup of coffee, dark roaster ground coffee helps with the taste. Just to have that strong coffee taste, because the ice will water it down. Also add sugar, sugar subsitute or sweet milk to taste because as you know sugar don't melt in cool or cold coffee or anything cold.

Step 2: Storage.. I use the Chinese restaurant large soup bowl and let it sit in the refrigerator to cool off, mainly the night before.. or left over coffee works well too.

Step 3: Fill a glass with ice and pour the cold or chilled coffee into your cup or glass.

Step 4: Add your milk.. I prefer 2% milk or fat free milk you can also find flavored syrups,  vanilla, mocha or chocolate to give it a little flavor or kick..

*****NEVER PUT A HOT COFFEE POT IN THE REFRIGERATOR BECAUSE IT CAN BREAK THE GLASS*****

SO there you have it.. Now let's start making the perect iced coffee...  =)

  1. GREAT ideas, Nicole.

Actually you never want to put ANYTHING in the fridge while its still hot because it will remain at a temperature where bacteria can grow for too long.

This is the basis for that old wive's tale of not putting stuffing inside your bird around the holidays because the stuffing will grow dangerous bacteria and can cause food poisoning when refrigerated.

    Thanks for sharing!
